Business Situation:

The client is a large company in Rochester, NY that specializes in manufacturing packaged goods. The client was having difficulty completing the final build, reconciliation, and Go-Live for a daily sales Essbase Cube (an Oracle Hyperion database) that included various volume measures as well as all financial data from the general ledger. In addition, there was an aggressive Go-Live date based on the client’s fiscal year-end and the internal resources were being spread too thin to continue with the project requirements.

ProNexus Solution:

ProNexus was engaged by the client to provide Project Management services to complete the final build, reconciliation and Go-Live for the Essbase Cube by their fiscal year end. ProNexus assigned a consultant with industry experience using Essbase and a strong knowledge of SQL, EBS, Finance/Accounting theory and Project Management. This allowed for ProNexus to hit the ground running and function with minimal direct guidance from the client. This was key to keeping all of the project’s various components progressing and not stalling. To complete the final build portion of the Essbase Cube, additional attribute dimensions were created to support the reporting requirements of various business functions. Through the reconciliation process, the entire data stream was evaluated starting with the source ERP system, through the SQL views & ultimately into Essbase. Various levels of clean up were required at each step before the data could truly be reconciled. The final component of the delivery was preparing the company for Go-Live. This entailed report building, security set up, training for users and administrators, as well as documentation.
