Salary Range: $150,000 - $165,000

 

Position Description

Parkview Health Services is looking for their next Controller. This person will perform functions to maintain the accounting records, and direct the development, analysis, and interpretation of statements and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of cost, budgets, trends, and increased revenue opportunities.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage the functions of general accounting, budgeting, receivables, daily cash management, accounting/inventory management, and financial reporting and analysis. 
  • Maintain control and accuracy of the general ledger. Conduct account reconciliations and analyses to ensure accurate accounting for financial transactions and review and approve journal entries - may do some initial entry. 
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and prepare tax depreciation schedules. 
  • Manage sales tax filings, business license renewals, and other state and federal business requirements. 
  • Manage month-end closing process to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements. Respond to inquiries and provide additional analyses as required in support of corporate review of financial conditions.
  • Support the Financial Planning and Analysis function in the development of annual budgets and forecasts; providing recommendations and reports as requested. 
  • Manage annual financial audit, providing worksheets, data, analyses and reports as requested. Modify processes and systems in response to audit points and to ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policy.
  • Provide research and recommendations in support of commercial, workers compensation, and benefits insurance renewals process. 
  • Review system processes to identify performance improvement initiatives, processing inefficiencies and internal control weakness.
  • Development and supervision of internal audit program to ensure internal financial controls are regularly tested and described.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of annual administrative budgets as well as financial policies.
  • Directs, forecasts, and analyzes special projects, e.g., proposed facilities, equipment purchases. 
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. 
  • Interview, select, train, and onboard department team members. Provide direction and mentoring, develop, and communicate performance metrics and execute performance reviews for accounting/finance team. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Excellent quanatative, analytical, and organizational skills providing the ability to analyze business and financial records, identify trends and anomalies, and draw plausible conclusions.
  • Expert knowledge of accounts payable, general ledger, financial reporting, expense reporting systems.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and Business Intelligence conversions.
  • Working knowledge of the business requirements in a pharmacy growth enviornment fueled by merger and acquisition. 
  • Demonstrated experience handling confidential information. 
  • Polished communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal, including outstanding presentation skills and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization. 
  • Proven process and project ownership orientation with the ability to manage a range of priorities and meet time commitments. Demonstrated ability to focus on detail and produce fully accurate results for sustained periods of time. 
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel software skills and demonstrated ability to transition information from several sources into one presentable file. Knowledge of MS Office Suite software including Word.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in FInance or Accounting required with Master's degree or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance and accounting with demonstrated leadership progression, preferably in pharmacy or healthcare enviornment.
