Business Situation:

The client had a vacancy in their Controller role. They did not feel that they needed a CPA in that role necessarily but understood they needed a resource for financial statements, financial oversight, and grant reporting. In the past, their financial reports had not been meaningful or timely, and their Independent Audit had been difficult and time-consuming. In addition, although they had policies in place for corporate compliance, they believed the policies were more theoretical than fully executed. Furthermore, they had recently moved their financial operating system from using Fund EZ to QuickBooks.

ProNexus Solution:

ProNexus was engaged by the client to perform an assessment of the current financial staff, including their needs on a go-forward basis in order to receive timely financial statements and perform a reasonable month-end close. We assigned a ProNexus consultant to assess the client’s corporate compliance policies and the implementation thereof; as well as provided QuickBooks support where needed. ProNexus also made suggestions for improved, meaningful and accurate financial reporting. ProNexus assigned another consultant to act as a Senior Accountant and help with the client’s financial statements, as the last financial statement they had produced was from three months earlier.
